When we can truly "be" in that moment with ourselves, there can be NO pretending, NO denial. This can be quite scary at first. Especially if you have someone instructing you to shut off your mind or only think happy thoughts. Being at home is the process of acceptance. Thru this process an uncovering takes place. Uncovering from the heavy layers of armor we wear. With each layer, we uncover a peace that our body, mind and Spirit begins to crave, on and off the mat. This is a simple reminder that it doesn't happen overnight. It is a life journey. Many will walk this journey every day and still others will find it frightening and much too difficult and give up. Speaking honestly, it sometimes feels like it would be easier to turn back to denial and pretend. This process requires us to sit on the edge of discomfort. To be real, in an un-real world. A world that tells us everything will be OK and here's a pill to make it all better. The enemy is ready and waiting for us to go backwards. Right about the time of a breakthru we are tested again.
There is no power in denial. We can choose the path we wish to take. We can face our fears and doubts, again and again, each time uncovering more of ourselves. Or, we can step further into denial, pretending life is perfect. Somedays are more challenging than others; that is a fact. But there is great healing power in acceptance and taking one more step.
